What Quality Report Do We Provide For Planetary Gears?

 

As core components of precision transmission systems, the quality of planetary gears directly impacts the operational efficiency, stability, and service life of mechanical equipment. In critical sectors such as industrial automation, robotics, wind power generation, aerospace, and new energy vehicles, a comprehensive and authoritative quality report serves not only as a “passport” for product release but also as a vital guarantee for the equipment’s full lifecycle management.

 

Below is the core content of the planetary gear quality report we provide to our customers:

  1. Bubble Drawings

These drawings mark all dimensions requiring inspection. They serve as both operational guidelines for quality inspectors and the master reference index for all subsequent dimensional reports.

  1. Dimensional Report

This report lists the actual measured values corresponding to each numbered item on the bubble drawing. It includes nominal (drawing) values, actual measured values, upper and lower tolerances, and pass/fail determinations.

  1. Material Certificates

We provide traceable material certificates from third-party laboratories or the original manufacturer, detailing chemical composition and mechanical properties.

  1. Heat Treatment Report

For worms, the report includes data on effective case depth, surface hardness (HRC), and core hardness.

  1. UT/MT for big parts
    • UT utilizes ultrasonic wave reflection to detect voids and cracks deep within the material, ensuring the structural integrity of the gear body.
    • MT focuses on surface areas such as the tooth flanks and roots, specifically targeting minute fatigue cracks caused by heat treatment or gear meshing.

By combining UT—which safeguards internal strength—with MT—which guards against surface cracking—the risk of gear failure under high-speed, heavy-load conditions is minimized.

  1. Accuracy Report

A detailed accuracy grade assessment is issued in accordance with international standards (such as DIN 3974, AGMA 2015, or ISO 1328). This report covers:

    • Worm: Single pitch deviation (fpt), total cumulative pitch deviation (Fp), total profile deviation (Fα), and helix deviation (fHβ).
    • Worm Wheel: Total tangential composite deviation (Fi’) and radial runout (Fr).

A definitive conclusion regarding the accuracy grade is provided at the end of the report.
