Worm Gear Used In Screw Jacks
We have been manufacturing worm gears for many years, from start to finish including inspection, we have full in-house control, which allows us to control every step that matters and maintain strict quality standards and more controllable delivery time.
As the driving component, the worm shaft is mainly subjected to continuous force and wear, so it requires high strength and surface hardness. This worm shafts are made by 42CrMo4, which offers excellent toughness and fatigue after heat treatment. And worm shaft grinding is needed to reduce transmission noise, improve transmission efficiency, and extend service life.
The worm wheel begins with casting in-house, so we can control material consistency and blank quality. After casting is complete, we move to machining and then hobbing the teeth. During the hobbing process, we will mesh the worm wheel with its matched worm shaft to check backlash, and adjust the worm wheel based on the measurement data, until the worm gear set achieves the ideal meshing condition.
Before every shipment, we will conduct a full inspection for the worm gear set and prepare full set of quality report for customer’s approval, including dimension report, material cert, heat treatment report, accuracy report, meshing test etc. Only when it’s all approved by our customers, we will send out the parts.

Gear Hobbing is a gear cutting process that used a worm-like cutting tool called a hob cutter meshes with a gear blank in a continuous, synchronized motion (like a worm gear pair).
Worm Shaft Milling
In worm shaft milling, a threaded rotating cutter progressively generates the worm profile, ensuring precise thread geometry and surface finish.
Worm Shaft Grinding
Worm shaft grinding uses a rotating grinding wheel to achieve precise thread geometry and superior surface finish.
OD Grinding
OD Grinding is also called External Cylindrical Grinding, which is in order to finish the external cylindrical surface of a gear to precise diameter, roundness, and surface finish.
