Precision Worm Gear

This precision worm gear is designed for hoisting equipment, which is used to lift and lower heavy loads safely. The worm wheel and worm shaft are designed with a module of 1.5, which gives a good balance between strength and smooth operation for this type of work.

The worm wheel is made of CuSn12Ni2, a special bronze alloy that contains nickel. This material is naturally tough and resists wear very well, so we use it straight from casting without any extra heat treatment. The worm shaft is made from 8620 steel. It goes through a carburizing process, which hardens the surface while keeping the inside strong and flexible. This makes the worm very durable against repeated rubbing and sudden shocks, which are common when hoists start and stop frequently.

To make sure the pair runs quietly and lasts a long time, we machine them to different precision levels. The worm gear meets DIN 8 accuracy, while the worm screw is held to the tighter DIN 6 standard. Why the difference? Because the screw is the part that drives the motion, so it needs to be more precise; the gear can be slightly less exact without affecting overall performance, and that also helps keep production costs reasonable.

These choices give you a reliable, low‑maintenance drive unit that handles heavy lifting with confidence. It resists pitting, scoring, and overheating, and works well in workshop cranes, chain hoists, and winches.
