How to ensure proper bevel gear tooth contact pattern?

For bevel gears, proper tooth contact pattern is essential for smooth operation, load distribution, and noise reduction. We perform meshing test using a bevel gear meshing testing machine, where the bevel gear and bevel pinion is meshing together and run under light load with marking compound to check the  tooth contact pattern, backlash, center distance etc. The resulting contact patch location and shape are evaluated against our customer’s specifications or AGMA standards. We adjust the manufacturing settings to achieve the desired contact pattern—typically centralized on the tooth face. For spiral bevel and hypoid gears, we use advanced software to simulate the contact pattern before production and fine-tune the cutting parameters. We will provide meshing test report to show the contact pattern prints. We also verify mounting distance and backlash during testing to ensure the set will install correctly in your housing.
