A helical gear shaft is a single-piece component forged integrally from both the gear ring and the transmission shaft. Compared to an assembly consisting of a separate helical gear and shaft, it eliminates the stress concentration zones typically found at keyways—which arise from the assembly clearance between the gear and the shaft—thereby offering superior torsional and bending strength.
Furthermore, this integral machining process ensures perfect coaxial alignment between the gear’s pitch circle and the shaft’s datum axis. The inherent smooth meshing characteristics of helical gears, combined with this high-precision coaxiality, result in significantly lower noise levels and reduced vibration.
