In gearbox applications, the combination of a helical gear design and DIN Class 8 precision represents a “golden combination.” This pairing not only effectively reduces noise generated during gear operation but also significantly boosts transmission efficiency. Moreover, as it is more cost-effective than DIN Class 6 or 7 alternatives, it allows for superior cost control.
During the meshing process of helical gears, the resulting impact and vibration are significantly reduced. Furthermore, the enhanced precision facilitates a larger contact area between gear teeth, thereby preventing load concentration on localized regions of the tooth surface. This enables the medium-high precision helical gears to withstand higher torque loads while minimizing the risk of premature wear and pitting. Additionally, the teeth of helical gears engage in a progressive manner; the meshing process itself is inherently smoother than that of spur gears, allowing for the near-total elimination of meshing shock. Consequently, given an equivalent level of precision, the noise reduction and vibration damping performance of helical gears far surpasses that of spur gears.
